While, I believe many people have good intentions when trying to help, trying to change a person's way of life and introduce them to a new set of values/way of living can be more destructive than helpful if the person/group trying to help doesn't understand the community and they have their own ethnocentric bias about what is right/wrong and how people should live their lives. I think a good example of this is missionaries trying to convert villages in Africa to Christianity. If you've ever read the book ''Things Fall Apart'' that is one of the themes. <BR/><BR/>I have thoughts on the other things, but I have to go write a paper, so maybe I'll respond to them another time. <BR/><BR/>---SarahAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
